Jackie Evancho Believes

Dear Diary,

Today I saw Nana Whacky looking at this video of Jackie Evancho singing a pretty song. This little girl is amazing. I find her very inspiring. I hope other kids see her and believe that they can be special, too.

Snickerdoodle kisses,

MK (& Faith)

We don't watch World News

Molly Kite and companyDear Diary,

I don’t watch a lot of television. And now we watch even less of the world news. Mama and Papa sat down the whole family and we talked about this decision. Banjo started by saying the nightly news makes him angry. When he sees something going wrong he feels like fighting and slamming his fist. He says it’s hard to control his anger. Nana Whacky’s eyes got sort of wet and she said “I ain’t watching people take advantage of other people any more!” She even shook her fist at the TV Box. That made me giggle.

Mama and Papa talked about the fact that humans are influenced by what they see in front of them. They said that by us keeping the world news on during the evening we are focusing our attention bad things, things that make us unhappy. The more we watch and comment, the worse we feel. Papa said that rather than be angry as we watch the news we should turn our attention to better things. Better media makes us beautiful people is what he said. I think that was exactly the moment when Banjo whispered something about maybe Mama should watch more of the cooking channel. (I giggled again. I like it when Banjo teases Mama!)

I think we made a good choice that night. No more watching and hearing about everything that is going wrong with the world. From now on we are only going to pay attention to things that make us feel good.

Hugs, kisses & spaghetti,    Molly Kite (and Faith)

Operation Santa

The holidays are here and it’s a special time at my house. Nana Whacky is baking her famous “Nut Puffs” which look like happy little snowballs, Banjo is learning to play the, uh, the banjo-he is practicing the jingle bells song, and Mama and Papa are off delivering meals to our neighbors. I feel very fortunate!

Many needy children do not have the same good luck as I do. Thankfully many children believe in the goodness and charity of the Christmas season that does not come in the form of gifts. Their “Dear Santa” letters arrive by the thousands in every Post Office in the United States.

Each year kind hearted people bring Operation Santa Claus to life by answering “Dear Santa” letters from needy children who would otherwise have no Christmas at all.

Molly Kite Book Review

This children’s book review comes from Chris Linden and his family. Chris is human resource specialist and has no affiliation with the author of “Molly Kite’s Big Dream”. Chris said:

Author Tam Veilleux and Illustrator Russ Cox did a fabulous job creating Molly Kite’s Big Dream. This is a wonderful introduction to the law of attraction for children. Our children effortlessly followed along and enjoyed the story. They understood Molly Kite’s Big Dream and the creative process of her big dream.

I recommend this reading selection because it’s a soft wonderfully told way to teach anyone how we truly have the power to create whatever we want. The creation process is told beautifully and simply for any age to comprehend. Exercising faith, action, gratitude, happy thoughts and paying attention to your inner nudges will breathe life into any dream you choose to create with your imagination. Molly did her part and the Universe did its part and this is co-creation at its best.

The illustrations are vibrant, playful, and stunning.
When we read this story we were right there cheering Molly on. I promise, your children will love Molly Kite’s Big Dream. This is a keeper! The author put it best when she said, “have fun practicing being a creator.”

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:  Thank you Linden family, for helping make our BIG dream a reality! Best wishes in all you dream, do & have!

Be An Optimist

This is Nana~ Listen up. Optimism will get you places. Here are three ways we can teach our kids to be more optimistic:

Model optimism. Kids learn what is modeled in front of them every day. Walk your talk.

Perspective matters. Teach kids that there is  more than one way to look at every
situation. We can show them how to take a bad moment and turn it into something good.

Say it loud and say it proud: “My glass is half full.” Full it up with a full explanation of what exactly that means, that you prefer to see things as hopeful and with great possibility rather than seeing things as a hindrance.

I believe

I believe in good things. I believe that what I wish for I can have. I believe it is good to have goals. I believe that having faith has power. I believe in the strength of family ties. I believe playing is good for me. I believe girls and boys are equal. I believe in stopping to smell the roses. I believe petting my dog will soothe me. I believe that peanut butter goes best with jelly. But mostly, I believe in me.

What do you believe in??

Do The Impossible

Having a dream is a great thing but Nana Whacky says making the dream bigger than I think I can is even better. She tells me I should try to do the impossible.

Mr. Walt Disney said “It’s kind of fun to do the impossible.”  Nana says that when times got tough for Mr. Disney he decided to take his work to another level and that was when he developed Mickey Mouse. He completely knocked the socks off the people who told him he wasn’t creative enough. He really took action!

I told Nana that today, instead of me taking myself to another level maybe she ought to just take me for a visit to Disney World!

What do you think is impossible and what are you doing to change that??

Abraham Lincoln Got It Right

“Whatever you are, be a good one.”  – Abraham Lincoln

Whatever you decide to be, do or have do it the best you can. I want to be a potter when I grow up so I’m reading and studying and practicing to be the best there is. I’ve decided to be a good one!

Remember: DREAM, DO, HAVE… this is the DO part! (wink)
